In 2002 Dow weighed 400lbs and Debbie was at 300lbs. We decided something had to be done about our weight problems. We went to a gastric bypass doctor in Lexington KY.

I am just now getting pictures of me since my surgery. I want to tell you how much I appreciate you and this organization for all you do for your patients. I came there weighing in at 230 lbs and now weigh 141 lbs. When I came there, I was alone in a strange country where very few people could speak my language and I could not speak yours, however, you and Alma made sure I understood everything that was happening, ensured my good health and I was amazed that you even gave me your cell phone number to call you if needed because you were concerned of me being there alone.

I originally got the lap band placed by one of those more "economical" doctors...that was a big mistake!!! I lost but then the band failed and I began to gain my weight back quickly.  Dr. Zapata came to my rescue and did the RNY and now I am thin again and this time I know it will be forever.

Anyone who knows me can tell you that I have been overweight since fifth grade. In ninth grade, I weighed 255-260 pounds and had an all time high weight of over 400 lbs. I will tell you that I tried everything except quiting my work and

I had my RNY done in Feb 2010, it's been 3 months and I've lost 50 lbs. I'm sorry I haven't written to let you know my progress. I'm so happy with the results I'm getting. Everyone at work says I look 15 years younger in addition to looking so much better with the weight loss. I was waiting to reach my goal weight before I wrote, but I guess it's a good idea to let you know how I'm doing. I owe it all to the skill of Dr. Zapata and his wonderful team of professionals. Dr. Zapata, I really appreciate your kind and gentle manner with me on my visit to Mexico, it was very scary for me to travel by myself and then going through the surgery alone, but you and your team was there for my every need. Also on my trip I had the eyelid surgery done with Dr. Cardenas. My eyes look great, no one knows what I had done they think it's all part of the weight loss. So I am getting alot of jealousy women not talking to me anymore, but I love it. This was the best idea I've had in a long time. It has totally changed my life, I am determined to change my life with your help.
