Each year nearly half of all Americans set losing weight or getting fit as their primary resolution. Yet, 365 days later they announce that losing weight or getting fit is their New Year’s Resolutions. Failing is synonymous with New Year’s resolutions, so much so that you can count on Late Night talk shows to mock the people engaged in this behavior.
But New Year’s resolutions can work: a Journal of Clinical Psychology study says you’re 10 times more likely to reach a resolution if you make the pact with yourself.
To fully realize weight loss you need to maximize your chances of reducing weight. Here is what we’ve found that increases your chances of meting your New Year’s resolutions.
Start the resolution with a buddy – get together eat right, exchange ideas, exercise together.
Look at food a differently – by educating yourself with books, shows and online research, you can get a different perspective on foods you eat.
Start a Journal – write down your frustrations, keep track of what you eat.
Belong to a Community - weight loss communities online are ubiquitous – blogging, forums, and online communities work just as well. Interaction with people fighting the same fight you are, help increases your chances of success.
